With the goal of adding more color to the grounds at Spirit of the Lake Community Arts, I set up a craft table at our annual Apple Cider Festival in October 2024. Kids and adults gathered round and drew on, and colored in handmade garden signs. The destination for the finished signs was a plot in the front of the SOLCA building that is being transformed with the help of black tarps - eventually the space will hold a teaching garden for the community center. Not only did they spruce up the black plastic, but they were a pleasant contrast to the whites and grays of winter.
