A MN Upstream Fellowship

With a nod to the trail signs found on Minnesota’s multi-use trails, You Are Here aims to share stories about Minnesota’s natural wonders while expanding access to the arts through collaborative creative experiences. Down the road, the hope is to also expand access to the visual arts through the display of artworks in the outdoor places we celebrate and enjoy.

In the winter of 2022-23, as part of a Minnesota Upstream fellowship, I collaborated with the Duluth Cross Country Skiing club’s Tour DuLuth. We celebrated winter by making and hanging up snowflakes at Lester Amity Chalet. I asked folks to answer a few prompts about their relationship to the natural world, especially in winter: “I love winter in Duluth because….” and “What action or gift would you give the natural world as a thank you?”
