(Re)Collect: Douglas County Historical Society in Superior, WI

April 11 - May 31, 2025

In Spring 2024, my exhibit (Re)Collect was on view at Pablo Center at the Confluence in Eau Claire, WI. Garner Moffat, Board President of the Douglas County Historical Society, happened upon the show and noted the themes of collecting found in the artwork. The Society’s museum is itself a collecting museum, so it made sense to incorporate the pieces from (Re)Collect with the historical artifacts at the Douglas County Historical Society museum in Superior, Wisconsin. We met up, procured funding and a year later were able to install the show and offer two Community Show & Tell events during the month of April 2025. Individuals spoke about the different objects they collect and why their collection is important to them. The artwork continues to be interactive, and folks were encouraged to also participate in I Collect, this time answering the prompts “What should the museum collect and why?” as well as “What do you collect and why?”

Thank you to the City of Superior’s Public Arts Commission for supporting this exhibition.
